Dog Walker Linda spent sometime with Tiger and had this to share: Tiger is a gentle giant, for a big dog he is very sweet!!! I enjoyed a nice walk with him today, he is starting to come and sit for me and even heeled for a bit. Tiger is very handsome with his tan coat, warm brown eyes and his long legs!!! He is an affectionate guy, he has a loving air about him. I know he is on the big side but he handles himself very well. I sat with him and he laid down in the grass, enjoying the nice sunshine. Working with him is going to be so rewarding, Tiger has winning ways!!!! Good with kids and other dogs, unknown with cats. Tiger is very sweet and has no food aggression. Knows some commands.

This is what Ray has to say about Brie: "Brie is a beautiful, young, 1 year old girl with a light tortoise colour. She is very friendly and playful with both the other cats and people. She loves being up high in the cat trees where she can curl up and snooze. If you come up to her when she's sleeping she makes a cooing sound and curls so you can pet her. Brie enjoys playing in the tunnel and chsing felt mice. The dot from the laser pointer fascinates her and she will bat at it and chase it. She is a cat who will enjoy having you play with her and also just sitting with her on the couch."

Ashley and Nathan comment, "This boy is such a sweetheart. He was nervous around us at first, and after some getting to know each other he was the biggest sucky boy ever. A lot of drive to play and run, but not too much as to not have time to stop and overwhelm you with kisses. If you are looking into adopting and have the patience to take care of his medical needs as well as restore his faith in humanity, please don't hesitate to call the shelter and see him! You will not be disappointed!" Charlie is going to need eye drops for the rest of his life and because of his previous lack of veterinary care he may develop glaucoma. He’s going to need a home that’s prepared to meet his medical needs. His muzzle will always be scarred and appear swollen from the scar tissue caused by someone wiring his mouth shut.Sometimes when meeting strangers, mostly men, he responds by growling-it’s due partly to the lack of vision but also, his unknown history and abandonment. He also has some food aggression, likely due to starvation. Regardless of all that, the right home with love, vet care, patience and training will restore his faith in people and will help him to be a loving pet. So please if you think you might be a good match for Charlie please call or email the shelter.

DOB:

Adoption Status: Adopted Description:
This is what Linda has to say about Lucy: Lucy is a very sweet lady. I thoroughly enjoyed my walks with her this weekend. She is a nice looking girl with the prettiest face and warm brown eyes. We were only allowed on the driveway so did some work with her. Lucy comes for me but was being stubborn in her sits!!! She started to heel for me too. Lucy has a loving personality, a gentle nature and very affectionate. She was minding the cold this weekend coming from the south but I’m sure she will be acclimatized in no time. Come out and meet her she could be your new companion to share your home with. Update on Lucy: Lucy is such a lovely girl, she just loves to run around loose in the pen and chew on balls. She is coming along really well with her heeling, sitting and coming. She is a joy to take for a walk. This is what Leighann and Chris have to say about Lucy: 'Lucy has a lot of energy and gets excited easily. She would benefit from an active couple who enjoy the outdoors. She loved to play with me outside in the gated play area, and doesn't seem too keen on getting muddy. I could see that she had a lot of energy to burn off that day and I felt bad that she was all cooped up in her cage. She would probably do very well in a country home where she can run around and burn all of that energy off on a daily basis.' Lucy must live in a home with no other dogs or cats.

Pepper

Type:
dog
Breed:
Border Collie Mix
Colour:
Black and White
Sex:
Female Spayed
DOB:
5 Years
Adoption Status: Adopted Description:
Pepper is best suited to a home with no kids. This is what Linda has to share about Pepper: I had Pepper out for the first time yesterday. I used her to train a new walker. She was doing very well with her come and sit but still needs work on her heeling. Pepper is a hoot you throw the ball and she brings it back for another throw. She is so sweet, with a personality to match. Pepper has a luxurious black coat that just shines, warm eyes and a very friendly disposition. She is playful but settles down nicely on a walk. It’s going to be a lot of fun spending time with this wonderful girl!!! Linda Gauthier spent a night in the kennel with pepper for our Ruff Night fundraiser and had this to share: I was asked to sleep with "Pepper" who was howling cause she had no roommate. So although it was lights out, i managed to move into Pepper's kennel, where she gladly accepted me as her visitor for the night. And then the true experience began....Pepper and I had to decide what place belonged to whom. Of course Pepper chose the best and biggest spot in the kennel, which i gladly gave up. Then i proceeded to cover her up with a sheet, and she decided this was an awesome way to sleep. Her head under a sheet with her snout laying on my hand. After about 20 minutes i could hear snoring, which i believed was coming from the kennel next to us, but to my delight it was Pepper already snoring away in a comfortable state. I had to wonder when she slept so well in the pass. Then Pepper started dreaming and was moving her legs and jumping, and i was hoping she was dreaming of running free and playing in a nice green field with her forever family.

Very shy but sweet once you spend a little time with her. This is what Ray has to share about Peach: 'Peach is a beautiful 2 year old girl who really adds an elegant quality to whatever chair or couch she is laying on. She is a bit shy, but she really wants to be friendly as she comes up to people who call to her and let them touch her. If she's laying down she will let you pet her if you come up slowly to her. Once she trusts someone she is very affectionate, rubbing her head and rolling over to be pet.'
