This is what Ray has to share about Nutmeg: "Nutmeg is a beautiful, dark, tortoiseshell-coloured 7 month old kitten who was a bit skittish, but is getting more confident each day. Nutmeg is now a very affectionate girl: she loves laying on a towel on top of one of our cages and will rub her head against yours and against your hands, wanting to have her head ruffed and scratched. Nutmeg wants to be loving because she will come to you slowly if you sit, and she really likes playing with stringed toys and felt balls. She loves exploring her temporary home here and would make a very attractive addition to your home. If you have a chair or couch where she could have some sun she'll be in her her glory."

Adoption Status: Adopted Description:
A special $60 adoption fee applies for Brady. This is what Ray has to share about Brady: "Without a doubt, Brady is a seriously special cat. He is a mature guy at 8 years old and has lots of energy and curiosity. He is also an incredibly affectionate guy. Brady often sits at our entrance waiting for people. If you talk to or touch Brady, you are his new best friend and he will follow you like a little puppy dog. Brady jumped onto one of our big cat kennels to be at the same level as me. He came to me, bumped heads with me, and proceeded to rub his little head all over mine, purring the whole time. In his previous home he was very much loved as he looks to people to love him as much as he does them. If you are fortunate enough to adopt Brad, he will truly be a blessing to your life. Brady gets along well with all of our other cats, is athletic, and loves to explore."

Puddy

Type:
cat
Breed:
Domestic Short Hair
Colour:
Orange Tabby and White
Sex:
Male Neutered
DOB:
2 Years
Adoption Status: Adopted Description:
This is what Ray has to share about Puddy: "What a wonderful boy Puddy is! When he first came here he was a bit shy and curled up in one of our cubby holes. After speaking quietly and gently petting him, he responded by stretching around inside, but to do his health check I had to get him out. I gently removed him and immediately put him on the couch where another volunteer started petting him. While he did meow his displeasure, he never growled, hissed, or scratched: he is a very gentle boy. Like Jack, another resident kitty, Puddy realized being out was much better than hiding, because people give him affection, and he would go from one person to the next seeking attention. Puddy's a very tolerant cat, as the kittens, as well as other adult cats, would come up onto the couch where he was curled up and go nose-to-nose with him. Puddy will give you a great deal of joy in your home and your life."

Bailey

Type:
dog
Breed:
Spaniel Mix
Colour:
Tan
Sex:
Male Neutered
DOB:
2 years
Adoption Status: Adopted Description:
Bailey is a shy youngster who has had a rough past , he was rescued in West Virginia from a hoarding situation with over 50 other dogs. He is making good progress but is looking for a quiet calm new home to help him acclimatize to a new start. He is considered a flight risk ( skittish , will take off is given a chance). A fenced in yard is required. He is quick to bark if he is nervous but is you give him a minute and let him know he is okay he will settle down and start wagging his tail happily. He loves getting his treats and has an adorable grin on his face that makes you instantly smile. Volunteer Dog Walker Phyllis spent sometime with Bailey and shares this : Although he was very timid about having a collar and leash put on, Bailey seemed to be glad to get out for a nice walk today. We took it step by step, as he is new to leash walking, and patiently let him take his time embracing this new adventure. He enjoyed exploring on his own in the play yard and hopefully he'll soon discover the joy of playing with toys. It's so rewarding to see him come of his shell and gain confidence, slowly but surely. Bailey is best suited for a home with mature kids or adults only because he is still easily overwhelmed and skittish but is getting better with some TLC.
