DOB:

Adoption Status: Adopted Description:
Hello my friends...My name is Jessie James and I am a very gentle boy who loves to have my tummy rubbed and craves lots of attention from my human friends. I was found living on the streets in February, searching for food, and very cold and hungry. I don't know why I was homeless. I'm a very affectionate guy who loves people, so I must have had a loving home at some time in my life. I was lucky enough to come to the Adoption Centre and to be adopted on March 24th. My new Mom said I was a real pleasure and she was so happy to have me as a companion. I didn't even scratch the furniture or chew her plants. She said I made her smile, slept with her quietly the first night and that she wasn't lonely anymore. I am a very talkative guy though and that's gotten me into trouble. My Mom said I started to stay up late at night and talked through the patio doors to passing animals and that really disturbed her sleep. She said I was too vocal so even though she said I was perfect in every other way she had to bring me back. I will need a home where my new owners are patient enough to allow me to vocalize until I learn that bedtime is for sleeping and NOT for observing and commenting on the neighbourhood nightlife. I'm not comfortable with other kitties either so I guess I'll need to find a forever home without any feline brothers or sisters so everyone will be happy. If you would like to get to know me please let one of the volunteers know and that can be arranged... You'll be happy that you did. Thank you ..... Jessie James

Knoxville is such a nice pup. He is an energetic, playful youngster who is eager to learn. He is housebroken and enjoys running, and playing with toys and going for walks. He is active and playful. He has no experience living with other dogs and has not been around children either. Linda reports:Knoxville is such a loveable little guy, he is very affectionate too. He was doing really well with his obedience today. In the compound I had a little trouble getting him back on the leash but he sure was having a ball in there. He let me clean the mud off him with no problem. He just doesn't like anything put over his head, someone must have done something to him. He is doing a lot better and seems to enjoy my company.

Hello my friends. My name is Lilly and I an a big eyed friendly senior girl. I have lived with my Mom since I was a kitten 6 1/2 years ago. She's a grandma and could no longer take care of me so I moved to her grand-daughters house with the hope of making that my forever home. Unfortunately that didn't work out. The move was very hard on me. I missed my quiet life with my Mom and could not adjust to a house with children and other kitties so I was surrendered to the Humane Society on Feb 13. I am a friendly girl who will make a wonderful companion to someone who has a nice quite home for me.I heard one of the volunteers say I was ”so adorable” and I like to think that's true. I LOVE to pass my day gazing out the window watching the birds and squirrels. If you want to get to know me just let one of the volunteers know and they can arrange that. I would love to meet you. Lilly is declawed and is looking for a home with no small children or other kitties.

Sky

Type:
cat
Breed:
RagdollX
Colour:
Brown/Gray
Sex:
Female/Spayed
DOB:
3 Years
Adoption Status: Adopted Description:
Hello my friends. My name is Sky and I am an affectionate 2 year old Ragdoll mix. I was surrendered and brought to the Humane Society in January and was quickly adopted on Feb 2nd. Although I'm very affectionate I DO NOT like to be picked up. It scares me and my defence is to bite. That's why I was surrendered the first time. I'm quite a beautiful kitty so attract a lot of interest and most people who meet me want to take me home... but, if you are thinking of that you must be prepared to let me be the boss and let me come to you when I'm ready. My new adoptive family did not realize how important that is to me and they tried to pick me up. Sure enough, I bit someone... again, and I was returned after only 2 weeks in my new home. I know the volunteers will be spending lots of time with me to see if they can get me to be comfortable with being handled. I'm not sure how that's going to turn out but I am open to suggestions. I'm good with dogs but because I can bite I must go to a home with no small children. I'm in this enclosure because I'm not yet comfortable around other kitties either. I will need a patient loving family who are willing to take me into their home under my terms. No picking up, no other kitties and no small kids. If you would like to get to know me please let one of the volunteers know and they can arrange that. Thankyou..... Sky Applications are being accepted for Sky.

Adopted: Apr-05-12

Hogan

Type:
dog
Breed:
great dane mix
Colour:
fawn
Sex:
male neutered
DOB:
1 year
Adoption Status: Adopted Description:
Hogan is great with other dogs. He is a big goofball who will benefit from some obedience training. Renee observes:Hogan has come a long way in a short amount of time. He responds very well to his clicker training understanding that the click means good behavior and a reward is to follow. He will sit and lay down on command.Hogan heels very well as long as he is controlled. He still has moments where he loses focus but it's easy to get him back. Hogan gets shown affection for things like sitting politely and displaying calm obedient behavior. When he starts acting up it's back to training and getting him under control. Repetition of focus and leadership exercises is molding Hogan into a well balanced obedient dog. Applications are now being accepted for Hogan.

Sammy is such a sweetie pie.Her tail goes a mile a minute when she's happy. She just yearns for hugs and pats and loves to cuddle. She is a smart girl who knows some of her commands already. Sammy has no confidence, and it's sad to see her cower in fear. She is getting lots of love and attention from the volunteers and we're sure she will start to build confidence soon. Denise is working with Sammy and observes:worked with Sammy today. She is done with her umbilical training and heeling very nicely. She is walking on the treadmill. She sits on command. She is bonding with me and watching me as we train. She has come along way in such little time. One of the other volunteers also worked her today and Sammy did well with her too. We also did agility with Sammy and she is fine with that as well. Linda took Sammy out for a drive and observes:Sammy was so good in my truck, she waited for the command to get in and out when I got back. She sat in the passenger seat looking out the window the whole time. She didn'y bother me at all while I was driving. Sammy does not get along with small dogs.
