He walks well on leash....visiting every tree along the way. He sits when asked, and to get his leash attached. We spent time in the play yard where he showed me how fast he can run, big ears flowing in the breeze. I love his alertness and interest in all his surroundings.

Adoption Status: Adopted Description:
Bibianne is our slimmest girl, even at 3 years of age. She is a lovely girl with a strong purr and a great personality. She has strikingly beautiful green and yellow eyes that are hard to miss ! When we first open the Centre in the morning, and the cats gather, she is the one who wants to be right up on us, soaking in the attention. She gets along very well with all of the other kitties, and if we sit around at the table, she jumps up onto a chair to be pet and groom herself.

Fozzy

Adoption Status: Adopted Description:
Staff member Shannon reports, "I spent a lot of time with little Fozzy when I did the Ruff Night fundraiser. (He was my kennel mate for the night) Tessa said that he needed a lot of socialization and help. At first I was a little disappointed about it because the puppies were so cute and little, but when I laid eyes on little Fozzy I thought that he was the cutest little dog and that I could not wait to snuggle him. I hopped into the kennel and started to build my nest for the night and as soon as I opened that door to go in little Fozzy ran to the outside part of the kennel to be as far away from me as possible. I tried calling him over but he would not budge instead he stood there looking at me shaking. I thought that if I were to get some treats that he would come around, so when I left and came back with some treats I caught a glimpse of him sitting on my blanket curled up but then he saw me he ran to his hiding spot again. I go in to the kennel and start calling him over and placing treats on the doggy door. He eventually came over and took a couple treats but he did not eat them, he just carried them away. I knew then that this dog was going to be a challenge so I got one of the staff members to help bring him inside the kennel where I was. We shut the doggy door so he would not try and run out again. I picked him up and held him, He was very stiff and shaky. He was very nervous and unsure it was as if he did not know what it was like to be held. Something happened when I was holding him though, he started to warm up and became less stiff and less shaky. He started to come out of his shell and started to settle in next to me. Some of the staff and dog walkers that were there were quite surprised about how he was warming up to me. The one dog walker Sue said that when she first met him he sat with his back to the door and refused to even turn around. I felt like I was making progress with him and when I sat down and started reading my book he hopped up on my lap! When we were getting ready for bed I tucked him in with me and he loved it. I kept waking up in the middle of the night because well the kennels are not the most comfortable places for a person to sleep and it can also be loud with the other dogs, but every time I did wake up Fozzy was still by my side. If he heard another dog bark he got a little scared but he knew that I was there with him and I would hold him a little tighter. When morning came and I was going to be freed from my kennel I didn't want to go! I laid there with Fozzy some more and slowly got my stuff together. I got out of my kennel and he just looked at me with those big eyes wondering where his friend was going. I am so happy that I got to be with Fozzy that night! I learned so much about him. He really needs a quite patient home that is willing to work with him. He did take a while to warm up to me but once he did he didnt leave my side. With Fozzy you need to move slower as he is unsure even though he is still a puppy. He did not like any of my treats that I gave him and I gave him quite the variety from Milkbone to Beggin Stripes to Puperonnis but once the peanut butter Kong came out he in heaven and devoured it in a flash. He is a curious puppy and very affectionate once he gets comfortable with you. You know that saying don't judge a book by its cover well this saying fits perfectly with this little muffin. He may hide in his kennel when you go to visit him or he may even keep his back to you but if you go in a sit with him and spend time with him he will warm up and become the most affectionate little dog. He is not your typical dog he is an extraordinary dog and if I had the chance to adopt him I would."

Zero is a transfer from North Carolina. Dog Walker Linda spent sometime with Zero and had this to say :Zero was very timid when I went to get him out. I sat in his kennel until he got used to me then I carried him outside. Once out there he was a changed dog, very interested in his surroundings. Zero is a sweetheart and a half, he is so affectionate liking nothing better then to snuggle up for some loving. At one point he was on his back laying on me as I sat with him. He is already coming and sitting for me, he shows much intelligence. Zero is one of those dogs you fall for immediately. With his beautiful blue eyes and wavy coat he is a good looking guy!!! I look forward with spending more time with him as he over comes his shyness. His tail never stopped wagging which is a good sign. I’m sure Zero will go far he has so much going for him!!!!
